My fellow Americans, it is now that I do what is maybe the most important thing that I the president of the Beer Drinking Right, CEO of Don Stevens Productions and host of The Don Stevens Show must do. I am here to give you the state of the union address. This is not just a message to you who are a part of this great and wonderful conservative movement, this is a message for all Americans. Yet do not be fooled, this is not reach across the isle bipartisan weak kneed compromise either. I want all Americans to join our movement, not because we change to include them, because they realize that we are right and they want what is best for America. Since this countries founding and even before, this land had been a platform for the realization of dreams both small and large. We call it the American Dream, you can take what talent you develop and find a way to make those talents work for you. The freedom we as Americans posses allows us to take something we love and turn it into a career or a business. The drive to provide for both our needs and our wants helps to keep our work ethic strong. Our desire to see others succeed and not be without, be it here in our own nation or abroad, has made us the most charitable nation in the history of the world. The desire we have to see everyone have all they want has also caused us great pain as we see right now in our investment and mortgage sectors. It has cost us a great deal of pain in war as well, because we all want to be safe and secure. We want to go to bed at night knowing our republic is safe and our way of life is protected. We sacrifice our young to war, because with out death in this world we can not have peace, security and freedom. It has been said that freedom is not free and that is as true today as any day before. Other things we have in life are not free either. We want doctors to heal us and yet we don’t want to go broke getting healed. We want to retire and relax in the autumn of our lives yet we do not save for retirement and there is no outrage over how the government handles money taken from us under Social Security. We need energy to power our homes and run our cars and heat our houses, yet allow our elected official to pander more to environmental lobbies then to their constituents. We are rightfully angered and appalled when we find out someone is torturing and killing animals yet we protect and defend the mentally deranged delusion that it is acceptable to kill millions of babies by abortion every year. The list goes on and grows longer by the day. Many people feel that our government is failing us. Both conservative and liberal, even no opinion spineless moderates feel as if our government is flawed. Conservatives feel it is too big and powerful and liberals feel it is to small and has not enough power. The problem is not that we do not know what to do to fix what ales us, it is that we are not willing to fix what ales us. There is not one problem this nation has that can not be fixed in short order. In over 200 years of history and over thousands of years that preceded that, the time it would take to right the ship is quite small.

We face an economic slowdown, our markets are volatile, our banks are suffering from mismanagement. Government has forced it’s way into our private sector more and more since the Great Depression programs of FDR, like a child predator slowly gaining the trust of a child before they abuse them, before they rape them. Now we face a government bailout of our mortgage sector after our government forced them by multiple means and government involvement to write loans for those who did not qualify for them. In turn these private sector banks created a market for the sale of these high risk loans so that people in the know would profit from both the success and failure of these loans. Our elected officials both Republican and Democrat, but clearly more on the side of Democrats have made money hand over fist by swimming in this corruption. Now we face what will almost certainly be a trillion dollar bailout and a blow with the intent of death on our free market. The answer is not a government bailout but allowing the free market to correct itself with oversight. The solution is not to have sweeping government bailout or takeover, but to have the government prosecute those who acted with deceit and criminal intent, both public and private. We do not need tax dollars injected into the market we need private dollars invested into the market. This can be done thru a cut or elimination of capital gains taxes and corporate taxes. Not only will the markets improve and become stronger overtime they will generate revenue for the people of America and that will result in more revenue for our government. With cuts in spending and reasonable governing our deficits can be reduced and all aspects of our economy will flourish and prosper.

The United States of America is standing on a cliff, there is NO SLIPPERY SLOPE! When you flirt with socialism you send people who pay no taxes one time tax rebates from the tax dollars of those who actually pay the taxes. When you have the government take over chunks of industry from healthcare insurance to retirement, to banking and investment and mortgages you are not flirting with socialism. Your three sheets to the wind with your panties at your ankles fornicating with it. The Beer Drinking Right is all about drinking and having a good time, but promiscuity and reckless behavior is in no way responsible. If the United States Congress and the President of the United States passes and approves this bailout then we have clear evidence that they are doing the equivalent to drinking irresponsibly and getting behind the wheel of a car. They are putting the American people at risk. It is the equivalent of pushing someone off the edge of a cliff just so you can be their hero and rescue them if they survive.

We can continue to fight over what wars we should be in and what wars are unjust, so long at we fight the enemy at hand. So long as we do not surrender to our aggressors our system can take a rhetorical beating from within. We can continue to allow the infanticide and holocaust caused by on demand abortions as long as we continue to ignore the fact that all of our lives began at conception and if we were aborted we would have been robbed of all that life has to offer us. We can keep letting our government take our money and mismanage it as long as our social security checks keep cashing right now with no regards for the future. Nothing stops us from turning our food into fuel for an infinite time as prices on the selves of the grocery stores go up and hurt our families who must buy less food then before to feed their children, as long as we feel better about ourselves as we drive our flex fueled cars and can put food on our own tables. We can keep cashing our checks from our government benefactors so long as they keep stealing it from those who pay the most of our tax burden, so long as they keep investing in our economy and keep providing us with jobs and income thru the private sector.

Right or wrong we can do all these things so long as we have freedom, but as we abdicate our personal responsibilities and stop fighting the enemy, killing our children, asking our government to nurture us from cradle to grave, burning our food for fuel at the expense of our fellow man, and robbing others of what they have worked for and built for the sake of those who did not earn it but just get it as a handout, we loose our freedom. We become subjects of our government, we cease to be a self governing society and it becomes:

“We The government of the United Socialist States of America, in order to care for our people, establish fairness, insure domestic obedience and safety, to provide for the preservation of government from rebellion, ensure the general state of welfare, and promote the dependence of the people to the state for now and all posterity, do declare these directives over the people subject to the Government of the United Socialist States of America.”

“WE THE PEOPLE,” need to stand up and demand, “NOT ON OUR WATCH!”

It is time for a revolution of the pen, phone, mail and email. I call on all Americans to turn off the game for just one night. Put down the beer for just one night. Don’t go out to eat for just one night. Put down your porn for just one night. Skip the shopping trip for just one night. Whatever you do don’t do it for just one night and pick up the phone, write a letter or an email or make a phone call to the government that is subject to YOU! Let them know that, ‘We the People,” will not stand for this. We demand the state of our union remain strong.

So you may be asking yourself right now, “Is the state of the union strong?” If we judge it from the looks of the house, with broken windows a caving roof and a floor with holes thru to the basement. No. But if we look at the foundation, a foundation built on the United States Constitution and a government of the people and by the people then yes the state of the union is good. If we purge ourselves of the contaminated blood of socialism and revitalize our nation with an injection of freedom and free markets then we have a nation that will stand till the end. A nation of people that can and will aspire to greatness.
